Grand Prive Group Loses License

Date: 20.04.2010 | Category: News | Tags:

The online casinos of Maricass International Holdings Inc., which is better known to its customers as Grand Prive Group, are not considered safe to wager at anymore. Their license has been suspended and may be revoked forever if the group fails to comply with the rules of its licensor, the Kahnawake Gaming Commission. The reason for the suspension of their license was the change of a software provider without informing the Commission. Grand Prive Group used to be powered by Microgaming, but switched to a less known online gambling software developer called BetonSoftware without either sending a Material Change Report to the Kahnawake Gaming Commission or informing its previous provider, Microgaming. Their new software has not been approved by the Commission yet, so the Grand Prive group is not any longer authorized to operate its websites and the players, as well as other online casino licensing companies were informed that Kahnawake is no longer responsible for the safety of their websites. The players may still wager at these internet casinos, but do so at their own risk. The list of Grand Prive Group casinos is quite long with such websites as Grand Bay Casino, Casino Grand Bay, Kasino Grand Bay, Bella Vegas, Jackpot Wheel, Fortune Junction, Big Dollar, Lake Palace, Road House Reels and Jupiter Club.

The suspension should not be taken lightly as Kahnawake Gaming Commission is well-known as a very strict licenser, which is proved by the fact that more than 50 online casino operators trust it with providing safety to their gamblers. More than a quarter of a thousand websites represent the logo of Kahnawake, considered to be the hallmark of secure internet gambling. The name comes from the fact that the company operates from the Kahnawake Mohawk Territory, one of the few places in the USA where gambling is legal. Apart from the current issue with Maricass International Holdings Inc., the Kahnawake online gambling regulator showed its persistency in the last year scandal, when the money lost by players at several poker rooms licensed by the company was fully compensated.

The Client Provider Authorization of Grand Prive Group has been suspended and may be altogether cancelled, as became known to the public from an advisory notice, signed by the general counsel of Kahnawake Gaming Commission, Murray Marshall on the 7th of April.
